The invention relates to a damper/flywheel between the parts (A, B) of which there are spring members (36) acting in the circumferential direction, one of the said parts having radially extending arms (38) which alternate (36) in the circumferential direction with these elastic members and interact with them. According to the invention, a friction ring (55) is provided within the part (B) which has these arms (38), the said friction ring being rotatable relative to the said part (B), being in axial contact with the said part and itself having at least one arm (56). This arm (56) is coupled freely to one of the arms (38) and has a greater extent (E') in the circumferential direction than that (E) of the arm (38).
