The plant for driving water-powered engines is distinguished by having the flow of liquid fed from the tank (4) needed for the drive generated by a rough vacuum being generated periodically and always in the same order in the closed tanks (1, 2 and 3) with the help of a vacuum pump (5). The one turbine is driven by the current generated in the downpipe (8), while the other turbine is driven by the current generated in the riser (7). The valves (1', 2' and 3') are used to control the rough vacuum, the outlet valves (1''', 2''' and 3''') and the pressure-equalisation valves (1'''', 2'''' and 3'''') to control the downpipe current, and the intake valves (1'', 2'' and 3'') and the riser valve (6) to control the riser current.
