PURPOSE:To check the diffusion of leakage flux at poles and to prevent splash of magnetic fluid seal material, by fitting and installing a cap-like substance made of magnetic substance to the outside circumference of the edge of a bearing housing with a suitable gap between the above substance and the outside surface of poles. CONSTITUTION:On the upper edge of a cylindrical bearing housing 3 a pair of disc poles 6 and 7 are fitted and installed through which a rotating shaft 2 passes. Between these poles 6 and 7 magnetic fluid seal material 8 is filled and held which is composed of the mixture of colloidal solution such as oil, etc., and magnetic particulate. A cap-like substance 11 is fitted and installed to the outside circumference of upper end of the bearing housing 3 with a suitable gap G between the above substance 11 and the outside surface of a pole 6 on the outside. The cap-like substance 11 is formed of a thin magnetic substance easy for fitting work.
