PURPOSE:To make automatic open/close control of a faucet based on existence of an object by providing a control section for making open/close control of the faucet according to the distance to the object existing below a water delivery unit. CONSTITUTION:Supersonic wave 8 transmitted from a supersonic wave transmitter 7a is reflected by a hand 8 and received by a receiver 7b, then amplified by an amplifier 9 and detected by a detection circuit 10. A distance l3 has been set as a referential level, and an output is produced from a comparator 11 when the count reaches to such value as l3+ or -X(Where, X is a predetermined value.). The detected signal is counted by a counter circuit 4, and the count increases as the distance between the supersonic transmitter 7a and the object for reflecting the supersonic wave increases.
