PURPOSE:To permit the regulation of the flow rate ratio of fluid in a first flow passage to the fluid in a second flow passage arbitrarily, by a method wherein the strength of a first magnetic field, corresponding to the first flow passage, is set so as to be higher than the strength of the second magnetic field, in the first and second flow passage, arranged in the magnetic field in parallel to each other. CONSTITUTION:When electroconductive fluid is made to flow through a generator passage 4 from outside, in an electromagnetic flow coupler, an annular electromotive force, orthogonal to the flow direction of the fluid and the direction of a magnetic field BG, is generated. This electromotive force is impressed on a pump flow passage 5 whereby the electroconductive fluid is provided with the power of flowing. The value of the flow rate QP of the fluid, flowing through the pump flow passage 5, is shown by a formula (here; B is flux density, Q is flow rate, appendix G shows the side of generator and appendix P shows the side of pump). Accordingly, the flow rate the side of the pump may be made larger than the the side of the generator by a method wherein the flux densities BP, BG are determined with respect to a desired flow rate ratio QP/QG so as to have a relation which satisfies the formula in a diagram.
