PURPOSE:To make heating uniform and improve heating efficiency by a method wherein at an appliance for heating foodstuffs mentioned on the face, a reflecting plate is attached to the bottom of a pan for articles to be heated and the pan and reflecting plate are rotated together in one body. CONSTITUTION:Microwaves emitted from the emission antenna 2 of a magnetron 1 are emitted from a guide tube 3 and a connecting port 4 into a heating chamber 5 and reflected by the inner wall of the chamber 5 and a reflecting plate 13. Since the plate 13 is rotated together with a pan 8 by a driving part 6 and the inclination angles of the plate are changed in its rotational direction, the direction of the microwaves reflected by the plate 13 is changed with rotation. The distribution of stationary waves formed in the inside of the chamber 5 repeats therefore periodic changes with the rotation of the pan 8 and the plate 13. As a result, articles to be heated are heated uniformly and their finished state is improved and heating efficiency is also improved.
