PURPOSE:To increase the paint-out processing speed and also to improve the reducing accuracy by providing a contour drawing/reproducing means which selects dots via an exclusive OR in a reduction drawing state where the overlap of dots occur on a picture area. CONSTITUTION:When the instruction contents showing an extremely large reduction rate of a character pattern are given to a character code from a main CPU 1, a contour drawing/reproducing circuit 2 performs an evolution correcting action to select dots via an exclusive OR for vertical lines A-B-C-D and G-H and selects and evolves the both-end dots of points A and D. Then a contour is painted out by a contour paint-out circuit 3. The hard copy graphic pattern of a pagination printer 5 is equal to a reduced picture having a dot array slightly different from an original picture. However the same pattern can be recognized by a correct operation of the circuit 3. |
