PURPOSE:To adjust an output by mounting a resistance heating element between the outer circumferential section of a discharge tube and a heat-insulating member. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical resistance heating element 2 is disposed concentrically onto the outer circumferential section of a discharge tube 1, a heat- insulating member 3 is arranged onto the outer circumferential section of the resistance heating element 2, and a vacuum heat-insulating chamber is constituted by surrounding the discharge tube 1, the resistance heating element 2 and the heat-insulating material 3. A total reflection mirror 9 and an output mirror 10 are disposed respectively adjacent to transmitting windows 5a, 5b on the outside of an external tube body 4 in the vacuum heat insulating chamber. when beams having the large angle of spread, (Amplified Spontaneous Emission) ASE, are generated in laser beams L going out of the output mirror 10, the ASE is detected by a photosensor 15, the conduction of the resistance heating element 2 is disconnected by a control section 16, and a temperature in the discharge tube 1 is lowered and the generation of the ASE is prevented. Accordingly, discharge power can be set arbitrarily, and an output from a laser can be changed largely. |
