SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain high-speed exposure by mounting a drive circuit for an image pickup element on a camera head part in a device where the camera head part and the camera main body part are structured separately and mounting an electronic shutter circuit in the camera main body. CONSTITUTION:A camera head part 10 is connected to a camera main body 20 of separate structure via a multi-core cable 19. The head part 10 has a lens 11 and a drive circuit 14 driving a CCD 12 and the camera amplifier 20 has a timing generator circuit 21, a shutter circuit 22, and other circuits. The shutter circuit 21 consists of a pulse counter circuit 51 and a logic circuit 53, the circuit 51 divides in terms of frequency a clock signal by the circuit 21 to apply a required shutter speed and the circuit 53 acts so as to discharge the video electric charge of the CCD 12 by scanning and to set the exposure time obtained by the circuit 51 just before the CCD 12 starts photoelectric conversion. The operation above is realized by interlocking the shutter circuit 32 with the said loop circuit.
