PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment in position with the relative position of a jig and electric resistance welding machine being not influenced by the repeated accuracy of an index by locating a jig to a frame by a positioning device after its indexing. CONSTITUTION:When a jig 3 comes to the specific position respectively with a rotary disk 2 being indexed, a small gap is caused between the V groove of a block 9 and the tip of a lever 13 by slightly rotating the lever 13 in clockwise direction centering around a bearing part 12. The jig 3 can move on the rotary disk 2 by the gap part thereof. A positioning device 4 fits locating rods 5, 5' into the holes 7, 8 of the jig 3 by moving them. Welding work is then started by an electric resistance welding machine and on completion the locating rods 5, 5' are descended, the lever 13 is returned to the original position to press the jig 3 to pins 10, 11 via block 9.
