PURPOSE:To easily obtain a constant and pretty welding face with robot welding by measuring the displacement on the elliptical curved face of a joining part by a stylus and actuating an oscillating mechanism and XY table by a computer control device. CONSTITUTION:The stylus 6' of a shape measuring instrument 6 is set to the joining position of the container main body (a) apart a little from a welding position 5 and a pouring port (b). The stylus 6' measures by a rotary encoder and potentiometer the displacement of the elliptical curved face in the case of the opening edge of the pouring port (b) in the shape of a joining part 5 being elliptical. The displacement of the measuring value is stored by a microcomputor, and an oscillating mechanism 3 with a rotary encoder and an XY table 2 are actuated by a computor control device to hold a welding torch 4 in correct position and attitude. The microcomputor simultaneously calculated the rotary speed making the welding peripheral speed constant, rotating the container main body (a) at constant speed by giving a command to the computor control device to simultaneously perform automatic welding as well.
