PURPOSE:To shorten a time until housing, by providing a controller including a microcomputer which identifies the plane of an inserted disk cartridge by a signal from a plane identifying limit switch provided in a supplying/ejecting mechanism part. CONSTITUTION:When the disk cartridge 6 is inserted in the supplying/ejecting mechanism part 11, an insertion completed limit switch 4 is turned ON, and the cartridge 6 is loaded once. Simultaneously, the plane identifying limit switch 5 is turned ON/OFF by the plane identifying end face 8 of the cartridge 6. When the cartridge 6 is inserted in the state of a plane A, the end face 8 turns ON the switch 5, and the signal is sent to the controller (not shown in figure) using the microcomputer, and the state of the plane A is judged. If it is inserted in the state of a plane B accidentally, the switch 5 is turned OFF by a shutter guide groove 7, and the signal representing the state of the plane B is sent to the controller, and an unloading command is outputted from the controller to the cartridge 6.
