PURPOSE:To improve the property of close contact of a brake and against a drum by dividing a frictional lining material of the brake band into at least three segments to be applied and fixed over more than half of the area of a band strap thereby increasing surface pressure of a friction surface. CONSTITUTION:A segment-like friction lining 12 is applied at both ends of the inner surface of a band strap 20. An anchor bracket 30 is attached to either end of the outer circumferential surface of the band strap 20. Using a reimpregnated and cured material for a friction lining 10 and a normal material for the friction lining 12, a same function with that of the band strap 20 having a same material applied in a body over the entire inner circumferential surface of the band strap can be obtained. The number of the frictional lining segments is preferably 3 to 5 and the total area of segments is preferably not more than 1/2 to 4/5 of the area over which the friction lining of the band strap 20 can be applied.
