PURPOSE:To facilitate switching of a drive roller between low speed and high speed rotation through simple structure, by a method wherein, in a picture scanning reading recording device, the one gear of a gear train is moved through drive of an actuator, a rotation ratio is selected. CONSTITUTION:A magazine charged with a film is nipped by s roller pair 30 for conveyance. With a cover body closed, a solenoid 78 is energized, and a claw member 54 forced into contact with a rotary body 86 through a rod 80 and a lever 82 is displaced toward the first gear member 60 side against the force of a spring. A moving gear 48 is also displaced through a key 50, and a first gear 52 is separated away from a fourth gear 74 of a second gear member 70. When a drive shaft 44 is rotated by means of a drive source 40, the moving gear 48 is rotated integrally with the claw member 54, and a drive roller 32 is rotated at a high speed through a second gear 62, a third gear 64, and a gear 36. With the solenoid 78 turned OFF, by motion reverse to the above, a drive force causes drive of a drive roller 32 at a given speed through the moving gear 48 and the gears 52, 74, 76, 62, and 36. This constitution facilitates shifting of a drive speed.
