PURPOSE:To enable reduction of an amount of damaged sheets, by a method wherein collecting rods actuated by means of a fluid pressure are situated to both ends of a plate extending at right angles with the tip of a sheet support pipe which movably supports on the frame side and in which a traverse moving aside plate support rod is inserted, and a drop sheet is temporarily supported by the sheet support rod. CONSTITUTION:From the time a specified amount of sheets are loaded, the loading is detected and air, simultaneously, is fed to a position on the head end side of each of air cylinders 16 on both sides by means of an electric signal, a sheet support rod 18 is protruded at a high speed to support a dropping sheet, and some sheets are temporarily supported and loaded. During temporary support, an underlaying plate take-out guide is closed, a plate take-out plate is inserted in a groove to feed air. In which case, since a sheet support rod 18 is moved backward of a high speed, a temporarily supported sheet is transferred onto the plate take-out plate, and thereafter, dropping of sheets for placing is continued. During a motion to support sheets, a sheet support pipe 14 is secured to a bracket 13, even if a traverse moving aside plate 35 is reciprocated during support of sheets, vibration is not propagated to an air cylinder 16 and the sheet support rod 18, and a stable sheet supporting state is ensured.
