PURPOSE:To instantaneously demodulate a low area converting chrominance signal by executing a linear transformation of a demodulating vector with an adder and a multiplier. CONSTITUTION:A signal from a terminal 1 is inputted to multipliers 2 and 3. To the multipliers 2 and 3, the outputs of an oscillator 4 and a shifter 5 are respectively added. A part of the output of the multipliers 2 and 3 is held by holding means 6 and 7 and added to a linear transforming unit 8 together with the multiplier output. From output terminals 9 and 10, these is obtained a signal which is a linear transformation of the multiplier output by means of the outputs of the holding means 6 and 7. Thus, without using a phase synchronizing structure such as a feedback loop, the synchronizing demodulation can be realized and the chrominance signal demodulation with a very short pulling-in time can be executed.
