PURPOSE:To contrive the simplification of a constitution by connecting a capacitor group having a unit capacitance and a capacitance of a multiple of 2' power and a capacitor group having a unit capacitance to an input of an inverse amplifier and connecting an input signal and a reference signal switchingly to each capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A switch S0 is closed, switch groups S3, S4 are connected to an input signal terminal Vin and switch groups S1, S2 are connected to ground to form the sample mode. An input voltage of an amplifier 1 is a threshold voltage VT and the total electric charge Q0 expressed in equation is stored in unit capacitors C1-C3 and a capacitor Q4 of the double capacitance. Then the switch S0 is opened, the switch S4 is connected to a reference source VR to obtain the most significant bit signal from the output of the amplifier 1. Similarly, the switches S3-S1 are connected respectively to prescribed voltage sources VR, VR/2 and VR/4 to obtain sequentially the low-order bit signals.
