A trim moulding, in particular a floor covering of a motor vehicle, has a bordered carpet and additional layer. The border is formed from a full-profile plastic element (8). The latter is integrally formed directly on the edges (5, 6) of the carpet layer (1) and of the additional layer (2). In the region of the edge of the carpet layer (1) its pile is embedded in the plastic element (8). The plastic element (8) has a closed outer side (14). <IMAGE>
