PURPOSE:To enable a thermosensible ink sheet to be easily and surely separated from a copying paper, by a method wherein the thermosensible ink sheet changes its direction through a specific angle after passing through a thermal head heating element part. CONSTITUTION:Until a copying paper 12 reaches an edge 62 after it was fed into the space between a transfer roller 59 and a thermosensible ink sheet 55 and heated under pressure by the transfer roller 59 and a thermal head 50 and thereby an ink was transferred to the copying paper 12, the copying paper 12 and the thermosensible ink sheet 55 are fed in close contact with each other for a fixed time. Thereafter, the thermosensible ink sheet 55 changes its direction sharply downwards at the edge 62, but the copying paper goes straight as it is. The angle of the edge 62 of a blade 61 is made smaller than 90 deg. to allow the thermosensible ink sheet 55 to change its direction sharply downwards. The thermosensible ink sheet 55 is taken up by a take-up shaft 54 at an angle of theta to the feed direction thereof. If the angle theta is from 10 deg. to 30 deg. or more, it acts to the separation of the copying paper 12, but an angle from 60 deg. to 90 deg. is preferable.
