PURPOSE:To accurately detect the use time of an individual probe, by measuring an actually outputted output time by a count means to store the same at every probe. CONSTITUTION:When a desired output level is set by an output setting switch 13 and a foot switch 14 is stepped, a CPU 17 applies count start output to a counter 20 and operates a beam shutter 21 to output laser beam from a laser probe 10 while the counter 20 continues to count laser output. When the foot switch 14 is opened, the counting operation of the counter 20 is stopped and the count of the counter 20 is read to be recorded on an RAM 19 but, in the case of the already registered probe, the discrimination data of the mounted probe is read from the RAM 19 and this new count is added to the numerical record. The sum is written in the RAM 19 as a total use time and, at the time of a newly registered probe, the count is recorded on the address after probe discrimination data C as a use time.
