PURPOSE:To make it possible to readily remove fluff of rubbing cloth by forming large spaces between a glass plate and the regulation plate of an adsorption table used in orientation treating process in assembling a liquid crystal panel by sliding the regulation plate by means of an air cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An adsorption table 1 for adsorbing a glass plate 2 is provided with a regulation plate 3 for regulating the direction and position of the glass plate 2 and cylinder 5 for sliding the regulation plate 3. When this cylinder 5 is projected to the right in the figure, the glass plate 2 and the left side of the regulation plate about against each other for forming space between the glass plate 2 and the right side of the regulation plate 3. In this state, orientation treating process by rubbing a piece of rubbing cloth to the glass plate 2 is performed. After completing this operation, the air cylinder 5 is retracted toward the left side in the figure, to make the regulation plate 3 become a state being slidden to the left through a connecting instrument 6. At this point, large spaces (a' and a'') can be produced around the glass plate 2. Therefore, the fluff having fallen between the glass plate 2 and regulation plate 3 can be readily removed.
