PURPOSE:To quickly produce an optical fiber cable without increasing the transmission loss by preliminarily forcibly twisting a high-tensile body so that this body is untwisted in the direction, where winding of a wrapping tape is loosened, when twist is released. CONSTITUTION:A pair of twisting devices 5 and 6 are arranged in a part of the section through which a high-tensile body 1 is wound up around a take-up drum 8 from a supply drum 7. The high-tensile body 1 is forcibly twisted by them, and an optical fiber 2 twisted around the high-tensile body 1 and the wrapping tape is wound in this state; and thereafter, the high-tensile body 1 is untwisted to loosen winding of the wrapping tape. Consequently, the lateral pressure to the optical fiber which is applied from the external and is caused by the wrapping tape is relaxed. Thus, the optical fiber cable is produced without increasing the transmission loss due to micro bend.
