PURPOSE:To separate the stripping power of a heat transfer film to shearing force and adhesive power and to measure these powers by changing the number of divisions between transfer sections while maintaining the total extended length of the transfer sections at a specified length. CONSTITUTION:Ink 2 coated on a base film 1 of the heat transfer film is transferred onto printing paper 3. The total extended length l of the stripping line perpendicular to the stripping direction of the base film 1 is made constant and the number (n) of divisions between the transfer sections is changed. The stripping power at the time of stripping the base film 1 is measured from the strain generated by the stripping at the respective transfers. The adhesive power Fs of the base film 1 and the ink 2 is no relation to the number (n) of divisions and the shearing force Fc between the untransferred ink 2a and the transferred ink 2b increases in proportion to the number (n) of divisions and, therefore, the stripping power F is F=Fs+2nXDELTAF (DELTAF is an increase amt. of the stripping power). The adhesive and shearing force of the heat transfer film are thereby individually measured.
