PURPOSE:To enhance the precision in the estimation of load shortage of sintered ore by measuring the current value of a motor for the fan of a cooling machine, and comparing the measured value with a reference current value to detect the load shortage on a cooler trough. CONSTITUTION:Sintered ore 2 is sent onto the cooler trough 1, and cooled on the moving cooler by the air sucked by the cooler fan 6. The current value for the motor of the cooler fan 6 is measured at intervals of one minute and inputted to a process computer, a judging program stored in the computer is practiced each time. the measured current value is compared with the previously registered judging upper-limit value, the result is displayed on CRT when the upper-limit value is exceeded and announced to an operator by a buzzer. As a result, the operator is informed of the load shortage, the gate clogging at the ore supply part to the cooler and the imperfect operation are inspected, and a normalizing action is taken to keep a decrease in the steam output to a minimum.
