PURPOSE:To reduce an eddy current loss in a high frequency area by forming an insulating film on a maim magnetic path side face and a bottom face and heating. CONSTITUTION:A core half body is formed of core half bodies 1a, 1b to the formation of a gap, an amolphous thin film 2, a winding groove 3 worked on the core body 1a and an insulating layer 4, cut to a prescribed size and a head chip 5 is obtained. In such a way, the insulating layer 4 is applied on the side face and the bottom part of the head 5 to obtain a head structure, thereby, the conductive film of an amolphous face 2 generated according to a heating processing at the time of forming the gap is prevented by the insulating layer 4, the eddy current loss in the high frequency area is reduced and the highly efficient magnetic head is obtained.
