PURPOSE:To form a ceramics film on a base body surface without damaging the base body by coating a ceramics precursor material on the base body and projecting a laser thereto in a short period of time after drying. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of the precursor material (e.g.; polysiloxane) which is selected from a sol or slurry obtd. from the resulted product of hydrolysis or soluble inorg. salts of metal alkoxide, org. metal polymer solns., and slurry prepd. by dispersing inorg. powder in water or org. solvents and becomes ceramics after calcination is coated on the base body consisting of plastics, glass, metals, ceramics, etc., to attain <=100mum film thickness after the calcination and is dried. The gaseous CO2 laser of 0.1-5w/mm<2> having a uniform energy distribution within the projection plane is then projected for 0.1-200sec to this base body.
