PURPOSE:To secure such an insulator that is excellent in a mechanical characteristic and nonflammability by setting the copolymer that specified its composition, a polyolefine polymer uninclusive of halogen and a softener, a metallic oxide, a phosphoric derivative down to each specified content weight percentage, and mixing them together. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefine polymer uninclusive of halogen and a softener are contained in a coplymer consisting of A-B-A block copolymers (A is polystyrene and B is a polymer made up of adding hydrogen to polyisoprene or polybutadiene and crushing an unsaturated part) as much as 20-60/80-40 in weight percentage, whereby the sum total is set to a 100 pts.wt. Next, a metallic hydroxide of 40-150 pts.wt. and a phosphoric derivative of more than 5 pts.wt. are added to the said 100 pts.wt., thereby setting it down to a constituent for wire covering. The molecular weight of A and B aforesaid is set to 1000-200000 and 5000-500000 respectively, and the weight percentage of A/B is 5-55/95-45. And, as for the polyolefine polymer, polyethylene or the like is used, and a mineral oil system or the like for the shortener, while aluminum hydroxide or the like is used for the metallic hydroxide.
