SURFACE LUBRICANT FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the objective lubricant capable of forming a uniform lubricant layer on a magnetic recording medium at a low cost and imparting the medium with excellent durability without necessitating a fluorine-based solvent, by using a specific fluorine-containing polyether as a main component. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricant contains a fluorine-containing polyether having a recurring structure of formula (l and n are integer of >=0; m is integer of >=1; 2<=l+m+n<=200) as a main component. A lubricant layer can be formed on a magnetic material by diluting the lubricant with a solvent such as acetone, diethyl ether or ethyl acetate and spraying the solution against a magnetic material or by immersing the whole magnetic material into the solution.
