PURPOSE:To omit a reader by setting plain information on the size designated to a memory means via a control means in case the display and the size of the plain information are optionally designated. CONSTITUTION:In case the display and the size of the plain information are optionally designated by 1st and 2nd designating means 14 and 13, the plain information on the size designated to a memory means 21 is set by a control means 12. At the same time, the set plain information is displayed on a CRT display device 26. Thus it is possible to omit conventional processes where a white plain original is set to a scanner and read after the reading linear density is set. As a result, a ground paper display operation is simplified and the plain information on an optional size can be displayed with an easy operation and without using any reader.
