PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition capable of readily giving pearl-like gloss specific to pearl mica even by inexperienced workers, for use in repair coating for automobiles, etc., by incorporating aerosol propellant gas in a varnish having specified consistency comprising clear varnish and pearl mica pigment. CONSTITUTION:The objective coating composition capable of uniformly giving pearl-like gloss specific to pearl mica, can be obtained by formulating (A) a pearl mica pigment-contg. varnish with consistency of 12-20sec (at 20 deg.C) with Ford cup #4, prepared by blending (i) clear varnish and (ii) 2-34wt.% [based on a solid basis for the component (i)] of pearl mica pigment with particle size 10-100mu and (B) an aerosol gas (e.g., mixed gas consisting of dimethyl ether and LP gas) in such amounts as to be pref. 67-100pts.vol. of the component A per 100pts.vol. of the component B.
