PURPOSE:To improve operability by constituting the titled device so that the brake is not applied to a movement of a disk cassette at the time of inserting the disk cassette, and the brake is applied to the movement of the disk cassette at the time of discharge. CONSTITUTION:When a disk cassette 40 is inserted, the end part 30d of a damping lever 30 comes into contact with a side wall 13, and even if the cas sette is inserted, a damping wheel 33 does not come into contact with the cas sette but advances, therefore, the cassette can be inserted smoothly without feeling a sense of incongruity. On the other hand, in case of discharging the cassette, a discharge button 44 is operated. In such a case, by an energized discharge lever, the cassette 40 is moved in the left direction and discharged, and the tip of a shutter lever abuts on an end part 30c of the damping lever, by which the brake is applied to a movement of the cassette. In such a way, a variance of the discharge quantity of the cassette is reduced, and a disk device having high operability can be obtained.
