PURPOSE:To prevent production of cross color and dot interference by providing a hysteresis characteristic to a detection output of a detection circuit so as to allow a selection means not to be operated directly in a change of a short period of a picture but to select consecutively a prescribed filter means. CONSTITUTION:When horizontal correlation is large by a selection means 16, a chrominance signal is obtained through horizontal filter means 8-11 and when the vertical correlation is large, a chrominance signal is obtained through the vertical filter means 12-15 to reduce the production of crosstalk and a detection circuit 20 detects the horizontal and vertical change to add a constant to the direction with less change with a hysteresis characteristic or to add a constant to the larger direction with a hysteresis characteristic subtractively thereby obtaining a detection output having the hysteresis charactristic, and the selection means 16 is controlled not in direct correspondence to the rapid change in the pattern to select a prescribed filter means. Thus, production of cross color or dot interference is prevented.
