PURPOSE:To obtain a preparation for treating AIDS virus infections, by adding organogermanium sesquioxide, thus having immunization accelerating and controlling action to increase host protection. CONSTITUTION:The object preparation is obtained by using an organogermanium sesquioxide of the formula [R1-R3 are H, lower alkyl, phenyl; X is -OH, -Metal (Na or K), -NH2, -O-alkyl] in a usual manner. It can be given orally or parenterally such as intramuscularly or intravenously and the dose is 1,000-6,000 mg/day. The compound of the formula is obtained by allowing germanium trichloride to react with acrylonitrile, hydrolyzing the product into carboxyethyltrichlorogermanium, treating the compound with thionyl chloride followed by hydrolysis to give the compound of the formula where X is -OH.
