PURPOSE:To perform measurement in a low magnetic field by enhancing detection sensitivity, by using an SQUID sensor as the detection means of nuclear magnetic resonance signal. CONSTITUTION:A static magnetic field 7 is parallel to a Y-direction and an SQUID sensor 5 having high frequency detection sensitivity of 10<-14>-10<-15> Tesla is used as a detection means. When a specific atom nucleus density distribution image is looked, the high frequency wave from a high frequency generating coil 8 is fixed to specific gyroscopic frequency and inclined magnetic fields in X-, Y- and Z-directions are changed using an inclined magnetic field generating coil 2 to measure the absorption distribution in the tomographic surface of an object to be examined. For example, when the density distribution of a <1>H proton is desired to be measured, the frequency of the high frequency wave is selected to 6.39MHz. Whereupon, a static magnetic field 7 generates resonance absorption at 0.15Tesla. Therefore, the inclined magnetic fields in the X-, Y- and Z-directions are controlled to set only one point of the tomographic surface to 0.15Tesla and the absorption at that time maybe observed.
