PURPOSE:To realize the nonuse of a shading correction plate and to make the electrical correction of a light transmittance unnecessary, by forming mask patterns on plural light transmission filters which constitute a color filter respectively, and realizing shading correction and the correction of the light transmissivity simultaneously by each mask pattern. CONSTITUTION:By switching the plural light transmission filters 12r, 12g, and 12b which constitute the color filter 12 periodically, the image of a color image is read. And the mask patterns 13 are formed on the plural light transmission filters 12r, 12g, and 12b, respectively, and the shading correction and the correction of the light transmissivity are performed simultaneously by each mask pattern 13. In such a way, since it is possible to realize the nonuse of the shading correction plate provided separately from the color filter and to make the electrical correction of the light transmittance unnecessary, the constitution of a circuit can be simplified.
