PURPOSE:To generate an airstream containing completely evaporated moisture by causing the airstream containing finely atomized water by means of ultrasonic waves to pass through a magnetic field so that the atomized water may be heated to instantly evaporate. CONSTITUTION:Water is finely atomized by the vibration of an ultrasonic vibrator of a conventional ultrasonic humidifier 1, and an airstream containing said minute particles of water is supplied to a duct 2. A magnetron 3 generates microwaves at, say, 2.45GHz (wave length 12.2cm) which are guided to a heating section 5 by a waveguide 4. Both ends of the heating section are delimited by metallic plates 6, 7 having minute pores, and, by making the size of the pores small enough relative to the wavelength, electric waves cannot escape. Meantime, the airstream enters into the heating section 5, and the water particles in the airstream are heated and evaporated by microwaves. The air containing steam is taken out through the perforated metallic plate 7. Considering the absorptivity of water to electromagnetic waves, electromagnetic waves having a wavelength of 50mum or less are suitable.
