PURPOSE:To lower the temp. of mixed concrete and to increase the strength of concrete by agitating and cooling an aggregate to form an ice layer on the surface before the concrete components such as cement, aggregates, water, etc., are mixed. CONSTITUTION:Sand 3 (fine aggregate) and ballast 4 (coarse aggregate) are charged into an aggregate hopper 7 from a sand stocker 1 and a ballast stocker 2 through respective weighers 5 and 6, and the materials are then supplied into a concrete mixer 11 and mixed with cement, water, etc. At this time, a cooled aggregate producing device 8 is interposed between the sand weigher 5 and the aggregate hopper 7, the sand 1 is agitated by an aggregate mixer 12, and a liquefied gas or the liquefied gas, etc., are blown into the bottom of the device 8 from a cold gas storage tank 24 through a controller 25. As a result, the surface water on the sand 1 is frozen to form an ice layer, hence the temp. of the mixed concrete in the mixer 11 is lowered, and the cooling efficiency is improved.
