Signal processing circuit for video tape recorder - separates and demodulates luminance and chrominance components and remodulates them before recording

The composite video signal is separated into luminance and chrominance components. The separated chrominance component is re-modulated on a lower carrier frequency. The luminance signal is filtered to produce l.f. and h.f. components. The h.f. component, controlled by p.l.l., is filtered and fed to be combined with the delayed l.f. component. The resultant signal is then frequency modulated and combined with the frequency converted chrominance signal. The combined video signal is amplified and fed to a conventional tape head. In playback mode the signal from the tape is separated and re-modulated to regain the original signal spectrum.
