PURPOSE: To change the spring characteristics at and after the initial deformation of the spring to obtain a good damp condition of vehicles by a combination of a suspension spring and a control spring, and arranging a jump portion of spring characteristics in the straight portion of the spring characteristics curve. CONSTITUTION: A flexible suspension spring 15 is supported via a metal part 14 by and a control spring 18 is directly fixed to a fixed base system 13 which is the frame of an automobile. When a mass M is accelerated in the F direction, the energy is first introduced to the suspension spring 15 via a rod 16, due to its deformation S the spring characteristic is as shown by the moderate straight portion 2 of a characteristics curve 1. When a contact plate 21 fixed on the rod 16 contacts a stopper 20 fixed at the lower end of the control spring 18, energy is also introduced to the hard tension spring 18, the characteristics curve 1 moves to the straight portion 4 via a jump portion 3, and to a portion 6 where vibration-preventive rubber is contacted. In this way, the vibration of the automobile engine is absorbed by the suspension spring and the more serious vibration in driving is absorbed by the control spring, therefore it is possible to obtain a good drive mood. |
