摘要 PURPOSE: To easily execute luminance change based upon load capacity, gradation display and the increment of display capacity by connecting high voltage resistance driver ICs having a push-pull function constituting a thyristor as a switching element at least to electrodes to which writing voltage is to be impressed. CONSTITUTION: High voltage resistance driver circuits, i.e., scanning side high voltage resistance driver circuits 20, 30 and a data side high voltage resistance driver circuit 40, having the push-pull function constituting the thyristor as the switching element are connected at least to electrodes to which writing voltage is to be impressed out of scanning side electrodes and data control side electrodes on an EL display device 10, and writing voltage is impressed to the eletrodes. When a trigger pulse is inputted to a pull-up switching element thyristor and a pull-down switching element thyristor, the thyristors can be equivalently regarded as diodes, so that current capacity can be sufficiently increased and ON resistance can be reduced. Thereby a luminance change corresponding to the variation of load capacity for one scanning line can be suppresed and thin film EL display device having a large display capacity value can be driven.
