PURPOSE: To obtain a simple and inexpensive radon testing equipment and method by adsorbing radon in air by an adsorbing agent and measuring the adsorbed radon using a liquid scintillation counting method. CONSTITUTION: Radon is adsorbed, for example, by an activated charcoal 3 that is contained in a porous holder 5 being fixed to the neck of a detector container 1 (vial that can be sealed again) placed in a living environment. Then, after the container 1 is brought back to a laboratory, a liquid scintillation desorption agent is immediately introduced into the detector container 1 so that radon can be desorbed on the spot, the detector container 1 is introduced into a scintillation counting pipe without eliminating the adsorption agent, and the concentration of radon is measured using the counting pipe.
