Printing device for generation of special effect can print characters directly without bit map memory for program. (A) is the output of CPU. (1) is latch, (2) is ROM, (3) is shift register and (4) is shift delay register. Dot clock input (DCK) is connected to the clock input of the shift register (3,4) and parallel line counter (5). (7) is working controller. Line clock (LCK) is connected to the vertical line controller (6). This device is very fast in printing and very cheap to make because it does not use bit map memory of large capacity.
