This utility model described the method of reinforcing clay soil using coir, a natural fiber from coconut. The clay soil and coir fiber is thoroughly mixed and an amount of water equal to its optimum moisture content is added and then the mixture is compacted. This soil reinforcement technique will improve the engineering properties of clay soil by increasing its shear strength and will enhance its natural resistance against erosion. |
