The method involves clamping a key blank (1) in a clamping device (18) such that broad sides (3, 3') of a flat key lie freely. Guide grooves (4, 5) and varying grooves (6, 7) are milled in a longitudinal direction in the broad sides of the flat key by millers (8, 8'), where the millers are rotated around a miller shaft. A miller shaft axis is inclined to a longitudinal plane (2) of the key blank around a tilt angle. Undercut guide groove walls (4', 5'') are formed by ribs (14-17) of cutting teeth (11, 11') of the millers. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a flat key comprising guide grooves and varying grooves (2) a lock cylinder comprising a flat key. |
