PURPOSE:To obtain the compact speech synthesizer of relatively simple constitution which has flexibility and suits to LSI-implementation by generating a periodic sound and a random sound source by one shift register sequence generator, a 1st register, and a comparator. CONSTITUTION:A signal is generated by arithmetic operation synchronized with a clock, the values of the register of the shift register sequence generator 2 and the 1st register 6 are inputted to the comparator 7, and a shift register sequence generator 2 is put in operation automatically unless the values are equal to each other. When the values are equal, a new coefficient is inputted to the shift register sequence generator 2 to generate a register pattern with an optional period. Then, the value of part of the register of the shift register sequence generator 2 and the value of a 2nd register 3 are used as an address in synchronism with the clock to read a sound source waveform out of a memory 4, thereby generating an optional sound source waveform. Consequently, the flexible and compact speech synthesizer of relative simple constitution is obtained which suits to LSI-implementation. |
