PURPOSE:To obtain a microbicidal composition for medical use, exhibiting excellent synergistic growth-inhibiting action against bacteria, especially beta- lactamase-producing bacteria, by using a semi-synthesized penicillin-type antibiotic substance and a beta-lactamase inhibitor as active components. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 6-[D(-)-alpha-(4-ethyl-2,3-dioxo-1-piperazinylcarbonylamino)-alpha-(4- hydroxyphenyl) acetamido]penicillanic acid of formula I or its salt and (B) 2alpha-methyl-2beta-(1,2,3- triazol-1-yl)methylpenam-3alpha-carboxylic acid-1,1-dioxide of formula II or its salt and converting the mixture into a drug form by conventional method. The weight ratio of the compound A to the compound B is 32:1-1:8. The composi tion is generally used in the form of injection. |
