A sheet-type deoxidizer material contains a mixt. of 100 wt. parts fibrous material, 10-5,000 wt. parts iron powder, 0.1-1,200 wt. parts water and 0.1-900 wt. parts electrolyte. A prodn. of the material comprises suspending the mixt. to a solidconcentration 0.5- 15 wt.%, filtering the suspended soln., dehydrating the soln. to leave a liquid content not more than 50 wt.%, and forming into sheets. The material can prevent a deterioration of foods or other materials which are sensitive to oxygen.
