The apparatus includes an A/D converter for supplying a switch with a digital video signal. When the reproduced FM signal is above a predetermined level for a whole frame, the input controls the switch via timing controls so that the digital signal is both written into a memory and output to a D/A converter for conversion to a composite video signal. When the signal falls below the predetermined level, input controls the switch to output the last frame stored from the memory to the D/A converter.
