PURPOSE:To coat the surface of a solid particle such as a bead with an org. ultrathin film by allowing the solid particle to fall into a liquid phase from above across the monomolecular film of an amphipathic org. molecule formed to a gas-liquid interface. CONSTITUTION:A solid particle is allowed to fall into a liquid phase from above across the monomolecular film of an amphipathic org. molecule formed on a gas-liquid interface to coat the surface of the solid particle with the amphipathic org. polymer film. Concretely, the solid particle 1 is allowed to fall from the certain height above a liquid level across the monomolecular film 2 of the org. molecule preformed on the gas-liquid interface, for example, an air-water interface. By this method, the surface of the solid particle 1 is coated with the single monomolecular film layer when the particle 1 crosses the monomolecular film 2. As the monomolecular film formed on the gas-liquid interface, one formed from the amphipathic org. molecule of every kind can be utilized.
