PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of refresh for preventing the deterioration of the quality of image printing, and to reduce running cost by using a recording head, a base substrate of which near a recording electrode being in contact with a resistance layer is made thinner than other sections, for a printer. CONSTITUTION:A head substrate 10 is composed of a base substrate 12 consisting of mica ceramics and a recording electrode 11 formed by W, Cr, etc., through sputtering, etc., onto the base substrate 12. A section near an electrode being in contact with an ink film is shaped in thin size such as t1=100mum and t2=100mum in the base substrate When a recording head is refreshed, recording paper 400 and a refresh sheet 500 are superposed on a platen 200, the head substrate 10 is pushed against an alumina coated surface in the refresh sheet, and the recording paper and the refresh sheet are carried respectively in the directions of the arrows C, D, thus polishing the head sub strate, then completing refresh. A section (a) represents abrasion loss at the time of recording and a section (b) abrasion loss at the time of refresh, and abrasion loss by refresh is brought to approximately one third of conventional devices. |
